Soyuz rocket

The Soyuz rocket is seen shortly after arrival to the launch pad on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. The Soyuz is scheduled to launch the crew of Expedition 21 and a spaceflight participant on Sept. 30, 2009.

HH-60H Sea Hawk helicopters

PACIFIC OCEAN (Aug. 30, 2009) Two HH-60H Sea Hawk helicopters, assigned to the Indians of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (HS) 6, armed with AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, fly in formation to a live fire exercise on Oki Daito Jima range. HS-6 is a part of Carrier Air Wing Eleven (CVW-11) and is embarked aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68).

Working in a Vacuum

Discovery spacewalker Danny Olivas at work during the STS-128 mission's first spacewalk. During the six-hour, 35-minute spacewalk, Olivas and astronaut Nicole Stott, removed an empty ammonia tank from the station's truss and temporarily stowed it on the station's robotic arm.
